Our Sustainable Values
Recycling
All products are handcrafted and made from natural and 100% recycled glass and metals such as pure brass, copper and iron, with necessary plastic components kept to a minimum, further reducing the reliance on plastic and other chemicals.
Packaging
Biodegradable bubble wrap is used when packing the lights and paper tape machines ensure boxes can be easily recycled by the recipient. We are working to ensure our entire supply chain is plastic packaging free. By the end of 2022 all packaging will be made of recyclable or biodegradable materials, the majority of which will be made from recycled materials.
Shipping
We prioritise lower carbon shipping methods to minimise our impact on the planet, whilst our shades are shipped tessellated together to ensure as little space is taken up as possible.
Circular Economy
We are participants of the WEEE European recycling scheme, which aims to improve the collection, treatment and recycling of electrical and electronic equipment. By encouraging the recycling of fundamental materials and ensuring our production methods use as much recycled material as possible, we aim to facilitate our progression towards a fully circular material economy. Where no new materials need to be mined or refined in order to produce new products.
Hand Crafted
Sustainability goes beyond products and emissions – it’s also about people. Here at Artleuk, we work closely with skilled artisans who help to develop our stunning range of lights. By working with artisans, we can produce timeless products that all have their own character and story. We also ensure the continuation of these timeless trades.
By creating lighting from solid materials that are made to last, we can improve the lifespan of products, further reducing the carbon impact of our range. Also, if styles of shades need updating, our fittings are made to be interchangeable which enables lighting to be refreshed without the need to replace the entire fitting.
